Replenish Winter Hair and Scalp with a Hot Oil Hair Treatment

Winter months can wreck havoc on natural hair. Natural hair can become dry and brittle due to the lack of humidity and moisture in the air during these colder winter months.

Give your hair a little more TLC during this time to prevent breakage and unnecessary damage. A do it yourself hot oil treatment is a great way to add moisture and life back to dry, dull lifeless hair and a dry itchy scalp. It is best to apply the hot oil treatment after you have shampooed your hair with’ Ife’Co-Wash Shampoo, Detangle hair thoroughly to remove all knots and tangles (Ife’Co-Wash will Condition and help to detangle) before beginning the oil treatment.

Use Cultured Naturals Ife’ Hair Oil, That’s infused with Sage, Rosemary, Castor Oil, and other essential oils, which provide the perfect combination to penetrate the hair shaft, which adds both shine and manageability.

Fill a microwave-safe bowl or fill an applicator bottle with between 3 to 6 tablespoons of Oil. The longer your hair is, the more oil you will need. Stir the oil mixture using a spoon.

Microwave on high for 10 seconds, or place in boiling water. Remove and apply to hair. Massage your scalp with your fingertips for two to three minutes to work the oil in thoroughly. Wrap a hot towel around your head as hot as you can stand, let it dry, repeat two or three times.(or use a plastic cap) Leave the oil on your hair for 15-30 minutes for deep penetration to the hair shaft.

Rinse hair with warm water to remove all residue and oil. Apply a small amount of Cultured Leave-in Conditioning Spray to your hair. Comb hair gently from ends to roots with a wide-tooth comb to remove tangles. Set hair and allow to air-dry. If your hair is Loc’s or Braids Towel dry or air dry.

Apply the hot oil treatment once per month to keep your hair properly moisturized and pliable
